The Department of Pharmacy, Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology (PIET), organized an Orientation Program for the newly admitted B. Pharmacy students on 25th August 2025, marking the concluding day of the three-week-long Student Induction Program. The event, held in the Seminar Hall, D Block, aimed to formally welcome the fresh batch into the PIET family and acquaint them with the institution’s academic culture, professional values, and growth opportunities. The program beautifully blended academic insights with cultural presentations, creating a warm and memorable experience for the newcomers.
The event began with the assembling of students at 9:50 am, followed by a warm welcome at 10:00 am. To invoke divine blessings for the new beginnings, a Lamp Lighting Ceremony was organized at 10:10 am, symbolizing knowledge, wisdom, and positivity. This was immediately followed by a soulful performance of Saraswati Vandana by Shrishti and Rachna from B. Pharmacy 1st Semester, which set a devotional and serene tone for the proceedings.
The academic session commenced with the Welcome Address by Dr. Gaurav Agarwal, Principal, Department of Pharmacy, who provided an insightful overview of the institute’s vision, academic framework, and expectations from the students. He emphasized discipline, dedication, and professional ethics as the pillars of a successful pharmacy career. His address served as a guiding light for the freshers, motivating them to make the best use of the resources and opportunities available at PIET.
The program continued with an inspiring address by Dr. Shakti Kumar, Director, PIET, who encouraged students to pursue innovation, creativity, and leadership skills in their journey as future pharmacists. His words were followed by a melodious singing performance by Mr. Himanshu, D. Pharmacy 2nd Semester, which uplifted the atmosphere and added a cultural spark to the event.
Subsequent sessions included motivational addresses by senior dignitaries of the institute. Dr. B. B. Sharma, Dean Student Welfare, emphasized holistic development, co-curricular involvement, and the supportive ecosystem available at PIET to nurture young talent.
To showcase the enthusiasm and hidden talents of senior students, a vibrant series of cultural performances was presented. The audience enjoyed a graceful solo dance by Ms. Vaishnavi (B. Pharmacy 1st Semester), followed by an inspiring address by the Management, PIET, who highlighted the institutional values and commitment to academic excellence. A sequence of energetic dances followed, including a group dance by Anjali and Tanu (B. Pharmacy 1st Semester), a solo performance by Khushi (B. Pharmacy 2nd Semester), and group dances by Eti, Payal, Ritika, and by Anamika and Ishika (B. Pharmacy 2nd Semester). These performances not only entertained the gathering but also reflected the cultural vibrancy and enthusiasm of PIET’s student community.
A significant highlight of the program was the Pharmacist Oath Ceremony, where the newly admitted students pledged their commitment to professional ethics, patient care, and service to humanity. This solemn moment marked their formal entry into the noble profession of pharmacy.
Towards the end, Dr. Parveen Goyal, Professor, Department of Pharmacy delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to the management, dignitaries, faculty members, performers, and volunteers who contributed to the program’s success. The event concluded with the National Anthem, instilling a sense of pride and unity, followed by a lunch that provided an informal platform for interaction among students, faculty, and dignitaries.
Overall, the Orientation Program on 25th August 2025 was a memorable and enriching experience that not only welcomed the new students but also motivated them to embark on their academic journey with enthusiasm, confidence, and commitment. It successfully combined knowledge-sharing, cultural vibrancy, and professional values, making it a perfect conclusion to the Student Induction Program.
