About the Programme

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering – PG at PIET offers a robust M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering program affiliated with Kurukshetra University. This 2-year full-time postgraduate program is designed to provide advanced knowledge in core areas of computer science, blending theoretical concepts with practical skills to develop capable professionals. The curriculum emphasizes strong fundamentals in computing, programming, algorithms, database systems, software engineering, and network security.

The program is supported by experienced faculty, well-equipped computing laboratories, and a focus on project-based learning and research. Industrial training and academic collaborations provide students with practical exposure, preparing them for successful careers in software development, IT services, network administration, system design, and academia. Graduates of this program are well-prepared to contribute to industry, research, and higher education with the skills and knowledge required to solve real-world computing challenges.

Eligibility

For Candidates with B.E/B.Tech

1. Must have passed B.E./B.Tech in Computer Sc. & Engg., Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, or Telecommunication Engineering from AICTE-approved institutions.
2. A minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA is required for general category students, and a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA for SC/ST candidates and differently abled students.
3. A valid GATE score is preferred but not mandatory in some cases.

 For Candidates with an M.Sc. OR MCA

1. Must have completed an M.Sc in Computer Sc. & Engg., Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, or an MCA from a recognized university.
2. A minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA is required for general category students, and a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA for SC/ST candidates and differently abled students.
3. A valid GATE score is preferred but not mandatory in some cases.

Note: Admission to non-GATE candidates may also be given subject to the availability of vacant seats.
