The Department of Management Studies successfully conducted a career guidance session on “Careers in Data Analytics: Opportunities and Insights” on 8th May 2025. The session was led by Mr. Rohan Saini (Data Scientist at CBRE), an experienced professional in the field, who shared valuable insights drawn from his own career journey. He provided an in-depth understanding of the growing role of data analytics in various industries such as finance, healthcare, marketing, and e-commerce. Through his interactive and practical approach, Mr. Saini explained different career paths including Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Data Scientist, and Data Engineer. He highlighted the importance of technical proficiency in tools and languages such as Excel, SQL, Python, Power BI, and Tableau, along with the need for analytical thinking and a data-driven mindset in today’s competitive job market.
The session witnessed active participation from over 120 management students who were highly engaged and eager to learn about the prospects in this evolving domain. The interactive Q&A segment enabled students to seek clarity on career pathways, relevant certifications, internship opportunities, and essential skills required for success. Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with many students expressing increased motivation to explore data analytics as a viable and exciting career option. Based on the interest generated, the department is considering the organization of follow-up workshops and hands-on training sessions to help students further develop practical skills in data analytics tools.
