The Department of Management Studies at Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology organized a career counselling session on “Career Opportunities in Logistics and Supply Chain Management” on 9th May 2025. The session was conducted by Dr. Vijay Arora, Procurement Manager at Nokia Solutions and Networks Pvt. Ltd., who shared valuable knowledge from his professional experience in the global supply chain and procurement industry. Dr. Arora discussed the critical role logistics and supply chain management plays in modern businesses and provided an in-depth overview of career avenues such as Supply Chain Analyst, Procurement Manager, Logistics Coordinator, Inventory Planner, and Operations Manager. He emphasized the growing importance of digital supply chain solutions, ERP systems, demand forecasting, and vendor management in today’s competitive landscape.
More than 100 management students attended the session with great enthusiasm. Dr. Arora’s interactive approach, real-life case studies, and practical examples helped students gain a deeper understanding of the subject. The session concluded with a highly engaging Q&A round where students asked insightful questions regarding skill development, certifications, internship opportunities, and future trends in supply chain careers. The feedback received from participants was extremely positive, with many students expressing a keen interest in exploring this domain further. As a result of the session’s impact, the department plans to conduct hands-on workshops and industry interaction programs focusing on logistics and supply chain tools and practices.
