Student Exchange Program with CIT (Chennai Institute of Technology, Chennai)

Student Exchange Program 2019

In the continuing of 1st edition of previous year it was the 2nd edition of the Student Exchange Program (SEP) with the students of Chennai Institute of Technology, Chennai (CIT) at Panipat Institute of Technology, Panipat which was organised by Department of Mechanical Engineering, PIET. The objective of SEP was to enhance the theoretical as well as practical knowledge of the students in the fundamental of mechanical engineering. Contents covered in the SEP were heat treatment processes, mechanical vibrations, I.C. Engines and refrigeration and conditioning. Engine overhauling workshop was also conducted for one day. One day trip was also arranged for the students to visit the historical place, the capital of India, Delhi. They all enjoyed a lot. On the last 2 days of the program, students attended the workshop “LEAD 4.0” which was organised by PIET Institute. Program was ended with the valedictory session.

Student Exchange Program (SEP) was conducted with CIT (Chennai Institute of Technology, Chennai) from 17th June 2019 to 26th June 2019.The main aim of this SEP is to acquaint the participants with basic concept of programming of the KUKA ROBOT system. 16 Students of Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering Department of our institute join this program and benefited with the knowledgeable session of KUKA ROBORICS LAB (basic level) & KUKA SIM PRO 2.2.1 (simulation software) which is situated in CIT. Student also learn about the recent technology such as 3D PRINTING LAB, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, MICROMOUSE TECHNIQUE, SOLAR AND WIND TUNNEL PROTOTYPE. Student also participated in cultural event and sports which are organized by CIT, CHENNAI. The whole course content during SEP is very valuable for the future aspect of students. This includes safety instructions for KUKA robots, Knowledge and usage of the coordinate systems, Methods of tool calibration and tool payload, basic concepts of robot programming, operation of robot system and Robot Simulation on SimLayout software.

KUKA INDUSTRIAL ROBOTICS TRAINING

KUKA aims to train engineering students of all disciplines up to the Industry expectations and foster research in the field of applied robotics. The centre conducts training programs engineering students of all disciplines.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

One of the sessions is related to artificial intelligence in which student gets the knowledge how we can use artificial intelligence in mechanical and other fields.

MICROMOUSE

Micro mouse is an intelligent robot that is designed to search a shortest path to any engineering problem using software.

SITE SEEING DAY

While student have amazing experience learning and doing project on KUKA ROBOT one of the best part of Student Exchange Program was site seeing when CIT teachers arranged one day trip for student to Mahabalipuram it came as a sweet surprise to all of us.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT

Student during SEP went to GOKUL AUTO TECH (GAT) industry for industrial visit. It manufactures CRANK SHAFT for ROYAL ENFIELD. Student got to learn many new things about how crank shaft is manufactured and various parts of crank shaft. Visit to industry was marvelous and full of knowledge.

CHENNAI  CULTURE AND  FOOD

During our stay in Chennai Institute of Technology we were introduced to students both from Andhra and Tamil Nadu all of them were very cordial with us and helpful too. We had go to state largest PHOENIX mall. We had a cultural day where students of both CIT and PIET gave various dance performances on Bollywood and Tamil songs. All this created a sense of unity among us and strengthened our bonds.

Food provided to us at college mess was different from what we are used to but still it was very tasty all students and staff ate same food which was an example of unity and equality.

Student Exchange Program (SEP) was conducted with CIT (Chennai Institute of Technology, Chennai) from 5th March 2018 to 15thMarch 2018. The main aim of this SEP is to acquaint the participants with basic concept of programming of the KUKA ROBOT system. 15 Students of Mechanical Engineering Department of our institute join this program and benefited with the knowledgeable session of KUKA ROBORICS LAB (basic level) &  KUKA SIM PRO 2.2.1 (simulation software) which is situated in CIT.
