Online gaming aggregator and content provider Relax Gaming has appointed Alba Monroy as senior business development manager as the company aims to expand in the UK.
Monroy, who will be based in Relax's Gibraltar office, joins from Microgaming having spent the last three years as senior account manager and commercial manager in Spain, working on vendor partnerships in the region. Prior to that, she worked at Paysafe Group and IGT.
Monroy will be responsible for expanding the company's UK presence and leveraging her knowledge of the Spanish and Latin markets as she works on territorial growth and expanding account management.
Daniel Escola, commercial director at Relax, said: "We are very pleased to welcome someone of Alba's calibre to our talented team. She has a proven track record of working with key clients and has a wealth of jurisdictional experience and knowledge.
"Relax is at an exciting stage, offering both quality and differentiation. New markets and expansion plans are a priority and we know Alba is the right person to help deliver on that vision."
Monroy said: "The rapid expansion of the company means that I will be joining at an interesting time; I look forward to working with some of the best in the industry and delivering strong growth for Relax, its partners and customers."
Relax, which has developed more than 1,500 games for online casinos, was granted a B2B licence by the Gibraltar Gambling Authority last October, which it says will facilitate expansion in the UK market.
The Gibraltar B2B licence was the company's fourth regulatory certification after licences from the Malta Gambling Authority, the UK Gambling Commission and the Romanian National Gambling Authority. In addition to its licensing operations, it also provides content to partners in regulated markets such as Denmark, Sweden, Estonia and Latvia.
Relax has signed a number of new partnership agreements last year, striking deals with a number of major operators. In April it entered the Finnish market through an agreement with Paf, as well as a partnership with CasinoSecret, owned by Casumo.
In May he partnered with Malta's EnergyCasino and then signed a number of deals over the summer, including WeAreCasino, Svenska Spel, Genesis Gaming, BetConstruct, Casinoer uden Nemid, Princess Casino and Tipobet365. In September he signed another deal with Paddy Power and Betfair-owned Flutter Entertainment.
