NSS Activities During 2019-20

The following activities were held during academic year (2019-2020) till now under National Service Scheme (NSS) in Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology (PIET).

Voter Day Celebration

Swachhta Hi Sewa (Cloth bags distribution)- 1 October 2019 

NSS volunteers of Panipat Institute of Engineering & Technology, Panipat visited the adopted villages. They made the villagers aware about the harmful effects of the polythene bags. Villagers were asked to take out all the poly bags from the houses and replaced those with the cloth bags. Around 5,000 bags made up of cloths were distributed in this activity. It was very needful activity. Villagers assured the students not to use such bags in the future. They expressed their thoughts through some paper made banners. The collected poly bags (approx 35 Kg) from all 5 villages were hand over to the supervisor of sweepers for disposal at the damp yard of Samalkha Municipal Committee at Bhapra Village.

Blood Donation Camp

A blood donation camp was organized by NSS-PIET with the collaboration of Rotary Panipat Central Club on 20 August 2019 in administrative block of the institute. Total 183 students, faculty members, staff members and outsiders have been donated the blood in the camp. Rtn. Jitendra Dhingra (District Governor) and Sh. Suresh Tayal were chief guest and guest of honor, respectively for the camp. The teams of doctors and sporting staff were provided by the Red Cross Society, Panipat. The chief guest and the management of the institute also donated blood along with the student, which was a motivation for the volunteers and students as well. Along with blood donation camp a program of tree plantation was also organized and trees were planted by the guests, management and coordinators of the event.

Podhagiri (10th August, 2019)

Podhagiri was organized in association with forest department of Haryana govt. the chief guest of the event was DSP Satish Vats and guest of honor was Sh. Rakesh Tayal. A nukkad natak “Jal bin sabh suun” was performed and 200 tree were planted in campus
