Ques : Does PIET have hostel facilities? What are the charges?

Note : There are separate hostels for girls and boys with AC and Non AC rooms in a secured environment. There are triple sharing and twin sharing rooms. The hostel charges includes the food, electricity and laundry. The hostels are connected with the Wi-Fi facility and R.O. water supply. The accommodation are allotted to the students on first come first serve basis.

Ques : Whether paying guest facility is available around PIET?

Ans : Yes, at Samalkha, Pattikalyana.

Ques : How are the workload and stress levels at PIET?

Ans : Institute timings are from 9 A.M. to 4.30 P.M for B.Tech, M.Tech., Diploma, MCA and MBA, from 9 A.M. to 1:40 P.M. for BCA and from 10 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. for BBA. PIET observe 5 days working in a week.

Ques : Are the courses offered by the PIET recognized?

Ans : Yes. PIET is government-recognized institute affiliated to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra and approved by AICTE.

Ques : What are the minimum requirements for applying to a particular course in PIET?

Ques : Are marks obtained in the qualifying exams considered for admission?

Ans : All admissions are strictly on merit. Admissions to some courses are based on merit in the all-India engineering entrance test, and in some programs on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination.

Ques : Can I apply for admission to a program in PIET before the declaration of result of the qualifying exam?

Ans : Yes, you can apply before the declaration of result of the qualifying exam for programs where admissions are done on the basis of marks. For all other courses, the proof of having passed the qualifying examination with requisite marks is to be submitted at the time of counselling/ admission.

Ques : Can I receive admission on the basis of entrance test alone?

Ans : Depending on the admission criteria, the admissions will be based on merit in the entrance test or marks in the qualifying examination. However, all candidates must fulfill the minimum eligibility requirements.

Ques : Can I receive the application form by post?

Ques : Do I need to come down to PIET Campus / Admission Office to receive / submit the application form?

Ans : No, the application form can be received by post .

Ques : Where can I get the prospectus and application forms?

Ans  : The application material can be obtained from the following places:

  • Application forms are also available online.

Ques : If I have to apply for more than one course/program, should I get that many application forms?

Ans : Courses are combined under different groups. Only one application is sufficient for courses under the same group. Separate applications are required for courses under different groups.

Ques : Can I depute someone as a nominee for counselling if I am not able to travel/ come down?

Ans : No. It is mandatory for the candidate to attend the counselling session.

Ques : Do I need to pay the admission / tuition fee at the time of counselling / admission?

Ans : Yes. The fee is to be paid on the day of counselling/admission.

Ques : Is there any facility for payment of fees in instalments?

Ans : No. the entire first semester fee is to be paid on the day of counselling / admission and there is no provision for payment of fee in instalments / parts.

Ques : Is there a capitation fee?

Ans : No. The candidates need to pay only the fees mentioned in the prospectus.

Ques : Is there any agent who can help me in getting admission to PIET?

Ans : No. We don’t have any agents or middlemen for admissions. But to assist you in admissions, we have many zonal officers at our regional centres.

Ques : Is there any management / reservation/ donation quota?

Ans : No. All admissions are allowed strictly on merit and we don’t have any management quota, reserved/ donation seats or payment seats of any kind.

Ques : Are any extracurricular activities promoted, or have facilities available for their training / practice at PIET where I can improve upon my skills?

Ans : There are plenty of facilities and activities for the overall personality development of every individual at PIET.

Ques : In whose favour should the application/entrance-test demand draft (DD) be made?

Ans : The demand draft (DD) should be made in favour of “ Panipat Institute of Engineering & Technology, payable at “Panipat/Samalkha”. The DD can be made from any bank.

Ques : What are the documents required while attending the counselling /admission?

Ans : During counselling/admission, all the candidates are required to bring the original and attested copies of the following documents:

  1. Certificate and mark sheets of Class X and XII.
  1. Certificate and mark sheets of graduation (only for post-graduate programs).
  1. Migration certificate from the board/university last attended.
  1. Rank card of qualifying examinations. If result is not declared, then attach admit card wherever applicable.
  1. Character certificate as per the format
  1. Medical fitness certificate as per the format
  1. Reserve category certificate, if applicable.
  1. In case of any time-gap in studies, an affidavit declaring non-involvement in any criminal activity during the gap period and duly signed by an executive magistrate/ notary public is to be submitted by the candidate.
  1. 10 additional recent, non-attested passport-size photographs with the candidate’s name and date of birth clearly written on the reverse are to be submitted.

Ques : Can I take back the original documents?

Ans : All the original documents are returned after verification.

Ques : Does PIET offer Ph.D. programs?

Ans : NO.

Ques : Is there any dress code?

Ans : In order to lend brand-exclusivity to each of our students, a dress code will be applied for the students of PIET. All students are strictly advised to follow the dress code inside the campus.

Ques : Are hostel/ transport charges included in the tuition fee?

Ans : No. The hostel fee is mentioned separately.

Ques : Is it necessary for the parents to attend / accompany children during counselling?

Ans : No. It is not mandatory but admissible for parents to attend / accompany children during counselling.
