Use of ICT Based Innovative Practices in Teaching & Learning

Faculty members in the department improve and streamline the teaching-learning process by employing ICT-enabled tools and technologies. Computers, tablets, interactive whiteboards, instructional software, online platforms, and internet-based resources are just a few of the many digital tools and technologies that are included in the department. Teachers generate a more dynamic learning environment by incorporating ICT tools into their teaching practices. They accommodate various learning styles and skill levels by presenting difficult ideas in a visually pleasing manner using interactive simulations, multimedia presentations, and videos.

Flipped Learning

The flipped classroom is an educational model in which the traditional roles of lectures and homework are reversed. This approach allows students to watch a lecture recording at home before attending the class, where the time spent is focused on discussions and activities.

Learning By Visualization

a) PowerPoint presentations are utilized by faculty to enhance the teaching and learning experience. By incorporating pictures, images, and questions, these presentations encourage students to understand concepts in a structured manner.

b) Smart screen/flat panels: Smart screens and flat panels are installed in the department. These panels offer various features that enhance both online and offline teaching processes.

Blended Learning

Blended Learning, also known as Hybrid Learning, combines traditional classroom teaching with online learning i.e. using MS-Team and independent study, enabling students to access content for anytime and anywhere learning.

Videos (Self-Recorded, NPTEL, Intel Lab etc.)

Students have access to recorded lectures by professors from IITs, NITs, and other prestigious institutions through the NPTEL platform. The learning materials offered on various online platforms are shared with students as reference material, allowing them to learn from diverse sources.

Youtube Channel by Faculty

Faculty created their YouTube channels for storing their lectures so that these lectures can be used by students for clarification of doubts after class.

Group Discussions (Online and Offline)

Grouping students into teams is an effective method for teaching collaboration skills. Within their groups, students can discuss various subjects and gain insight into different perspectives. Encouraging class participation and active listening is crucial, as these abilities will benefit students in the future. Faculty members also assign group presentations, allowing students to share information with the class, engage in questions and answers, and interact with one another.

Virtual Labs

Virtual labs (https://www.vlab.co.in/) are conducted for certain courses in classrooms, allowing students to model and design experiments for physical systems and obtain results through a computer interface.
