Railway and Airport Engineering


  • Understand various Railway elementals included in the course.
  • To use product catalogue data and through appropriate design analysis to make selection of gauges and sleepers with their fastening, various track fitting for a given application case.
  • Develop proficiency in implementation of (a) railway signal analysis and (b) signal design procedure using data book resources for various types of signals.
  • Learn to check and correct the design calculations based on certain strength and functional criteria including selection of materials, factor of safety for various design parameters of geometric design of Railway, Runway layout and pavement design included in the course.

Industrial Waste Water Treatment


  • To understand layout and working processes of industrial wastewater treatment plants.

Geosynthetics Engineering


  • Understand the selection procedures for various Geogrids included in the course.
  • To use product catalogue data and through appropriate design analysis select fibers and yarns from their various types.
  • Develop proficiency in erosion control and design procedure for (i) various types of geogrid (ii) wind erosion (iii) rain water erosion (iv) bearing capacity improvement with geogrids.

Ground Water Hydrology


  • Students will be able to apply and solve groundwater flow equations to confined and unconfined aquifers.

Design of Concrete Structures-II

Structural Analysis-II
