Computer Science and Engineering in AI & Machine Learning

B.Tech Computer Science & Engineering in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning  is four year undergraduate course designed to make the professional technically sound in advanced learning systems that are based on algorithm of Artificial Intelligence.

Artificial Intelligence

AI is the study of how to make computers perform tasks that humans consider difficult through the creation of intelligent agents. The study of AI began in the 1950s, and it has improved dramatically over time with better statistical methods and greater computing power.

AI is now used for all sorts of things, such as intelligent opponents in video games, accurate medical diagnosis, speech commands on mobile phones, and keeping email inboxes clear of spam. People who use AI often want it to perform repetitive tasks that take a lot of time for a person to do, or to solve problems which seem almost impossible to solve with a calculator. For example, AI can be used to:

  • Intelligently guess the products that someone may want to buy
  • count cells in a microscope picture
  • find the optimum number of taxis that a city needs
  • read the license plates of cars in a video
  • predict the quantity of ingredients a restaurant needs to order to minimize waste, but not run out of stock.

Machine learning is an application of artificial intelligence (AI) that provides systems the ability to automatically learn and improve from experience without being explicitly programmed. Machine learning    focuses on the development of computer programs that can access data and use it learn for themselves.

The process of learning begins with observations or data, such as examples, direct experience, or instruction, in order to look for patterns in data and make better decisions in the future based on the examples that we provide. The primary aim is to allow the computers learn automatically without human intervention or assistance and adjust actions accordingly.

Virtual Personal Assistants, Siri, Alexa, Google. are some of the popular examples .. As the name suggests, they assist in finding information, when asked over voice. All you need to do is activate them and ask “What is my schedule for today?” Product Recommendations are also examples of machine Learning in which when we shopped for a product online few days back and then we keep receiving emails for shopping suggestions.

The Scope of Jobs with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

According to  report, The global artificial intelligence market size is expected to reach $169,411.8 million in 2025.AI is associated to human intelligence with similar characteristics such as language understanding, reasoning, learning, problem solving, and others.Artificial Intelligence market is expected to grow from USD 21.46 Billion in 2018 to USD 190.61 billion by 2025.Major drivers for the market are growing big data, increasing adoption of cloud-based applications and services, and increasing demand for intelligent virtual assistants. Artificial intelligence market for services to grow at highest CAGR during forecast period.

Machine Learning (ML), globally recognized as a key driver of digital transformation, will be responsible for cumulative investments of $58 billion by the end of 2021.

And if you look at a report from indeed, vacancies in the realm of artificial intelligence has doubled over the last three years. A similar report from Indeed also reveals that the most in-demand job roles in artificial intelligence are that of machine learning engineers, software engineers and data scientists.

While the competition in the industry is yet to heat up in the coming months, the current talent pool in the IT industry have already set their eyes on artificial intelligence as an avenue for lucrative paychecks and rewarding career path. Amidst all the commotion that AI will replace redundant job roles with automation and smart devices, we are yet to reach the stage where machines would take over our everyday life. So if you are an AI aspirant looking to land a job in the industry, let us remind you that opportunities are aplenty. The most in-demand jobs in the industry right now.
